Retirement Party

Chances are, when you retire, you want to have a retirement party! Why wouldn’t you. You’ve earned it!

John was an elderly man who worked at the same place for more than 40 years, making minimum wage. He couldn’t drive, so he commuted by bus and walking for more than 40 minutes one – way. 40 years and he almost never missed a day of work. When he retired, naturally, the company threw him a party.

Only, one of his coworkers said the retirement party was pitiful! She said the company just tossed some BBQ on a table and that was about it. Sonia, the co-worker, was devastated by the company’s lame efforts and shared a brief clip on social media of John and how she felt his exhausting work wasn’t appreciated.

She said, “He loves working here so much. He didn’t want to retire. He didn’t get a bonus, just BBQ and a certificate. Don’t be a slave to your job. Thank you John for your loyalty.”

Sonia then set up a GoFundMe account. In a few days, it raised almost $45,000!
